Create Wizard Report

After I deleted an account and wanted to login with the new one without accepting the email verification I get the following error page and it also happens after I tried to verify my account by clicking on the link:

When I try to create a resource with a pdf it fails (I think) because it stops at step 2 in the create wizard, so I can never reach step 3 but when I go back to the landing page, the resource was created.

One more question why is description, title etc overwritten with this strange string?

• Bug "missing Profile" is fixed. It occured because of the new feature "watchlist". Should work properly on our dev server now.
• The problem at step 2 is not the format (PDF) but your input in the keyword and creator-field. Only values from the list are allowed which will be added as chips. E.g. when you type "Str" in keywords it will suggest "Strings", you can choose it and it will be shown as a chip. The same applies to creator and contributor (list consists of usernames in this case). Other values will fail and since those fields are required you cannot continue with step 3.
• Unfinished resources (resources where at least one required field is empty) are not shareable. We added a health check, so there is a proper warning/error explanation now, that says you have to fill out all required fields before sharing a resource. We will push this on the dev server this week.
• Additionally, if a user aborts the resource creation at step 2 (e.g. he clicks on some other nav bar entry or goes back to step 1 and again goes back) there are no saved values for title and description, but since it is considered a draft, it needs a title/description-combination as uuid. That is what you see if you view a resource whose creation was canceled.

Please check those bugs again in a few days and if there are no problems please close the issue.

OK I understand. It might be helpful for new users to inform them with some tool tip that they have to select keywords from the list. Maybe make a dropdown where you show most of the existing keywords and then when the user types something start filtering. Then I think it might be easier to grasp that you have to select the proposed keywords only.

When I click on the user card and not on the view button for user profiles I get an error that the page does not exist:

I cant share a resource although I have filled out all required metadate (also please tell the user which metadata is missing)

I cant add exercises to my watchlist

I am afraid some changes were not pushed to the server until friday afternoon, so I guess when you tested the watchlist and the user cards it was still the old version. Sorry for that. It should work properly now.

The problem why you can't share a ressource is because the file does not have a file extension. The format metadata value is read from that extension so in your upload the format field is an empty required field causing the problem. You can see the empty format field on the detail view. The error message now also shows which metadata is missing. That's a good point, thank you.

You are right. It's not clear for new users. I added some placeholder texts with examples, so a user is asked to enter someting and then select from the list. These changes will be online by no later than Tuesday. It would be nice if you could test it again then and if everything is fine close the issue.
